What is GNU Enterprise? GNUe is GNU for the Enterprise. We
are Enterprise-class business software built upon the ideals of
Free Software.
At its highest level, GNUe is a set of extensible packages
for Enterprise-level accounting,
supply chain, project
management, and other business processes.
All packages are built upon a common architecture to facilitate
interoperability, yet are also written to operate independently
of each other. This combination of interoperability and independence
allow you to basically "take what you need". You
decide which packages suite your needs best and install only those.
To accomplish the above, GNUe is also developing a set of high-level
tools for interfacing with and reporting
enterprise data. Our toolbox includes an Application
Server for defining common business rules, a Forms
package for interfacing users with data and business rules, and
a Reports package for generating useful
information from enterprise data. GNUe also works with the award-winning
Bayonne, a telecommunications application
server designed to be a free, scalable, and media independent telephony
environment
