*** reinhard has joined #gnuenterprise *** kilo has joined #gnuenterprise 'dmohhhhing good morning *** johannesV has joined #gnuenterprise good morning *** kilo has quit IRC *** jcater has joined #gnuenterprise *** whit537 has joined #gnuenterprise fyi, bugtracker is horked: http://www.gnuenterprise.org/roundup/gnue/ I get "Templating Error" after a long spin *** deke has quit IRC hi whit537 thanks for reporting jcater: could it be that roundup uses postgres as a backend and that hasn't been installed on ash reinstall? np does gnue do fund accounting? gnue is not (yet) a turnkey accounting software how do I get started? gnue is a development platform for database applications I've installed all the base python packages what distro are you using? headless freebsd + windows ahm are you aiming at 2-tier or 3-tier? 3 ok so you could try to install gnue-common and gnue-appserver on your freebsd machine download .tar.gz and follow INSTALL instructions which should come somewhat close then if you have gnue-appserver running on server install gnue-runtime environment, gnue-common and gnue-forms windows packages on client (from download area, windows binaries recommended) thanks for the pointers http://www.gnuenterprise.org/tools/appserver/docs/manual/devguide/index.html contains a few first steps for playing with appserver and don't forget to return here whenever you have problems or questions :) reinhard: not exactly... roundup changed templating a little bit between sarge and etch thx I've meant to dig into our templates and figure out where it's happening but, uh, forgot ah ok to hear that you are aware of the issue makes me already feel better :) did we do a lot of template customization? do you recall? template = db schema, right? no, html template ah I don't really think so we've defined some extra reports and we've applied the extension to connect roundup with svn okay... I may move the current templates out of the way and let the stock ones install and see where that gets us I didn't want to do that until I knew if we did a lot of customization, or just minor changes I just saw /var/lib/roundup/trackers/gnue/db/backend_name saying "postgresql" and no postgres running on that machine so I worried a bit :) actually postgres *is* running but I didn't find the db anyway thanks jcater for taking care I knew something would break on the upgrade :( but since sarge is no longer supported... I thought it was a must so can I ask how many production implementations of the GL there are? whit537: gnue is not (yet) a turnkey accounting software gnue is a development platform for database applications so there is no GL *** deke has joined #gnuenterprise so this doesn't exist yet: http://www.gnuenterprise.org/packages/financials.php#general_ledger ? is that what I'm hearing? do any of the packages exist yet? yes exactlythis don't exist yet none of the packages exists yet in usable state from the main www.gnuenterprise.org page: ok, thanks Note: Packages are not as far along in the development cycle as the tools. Most are still in the planning stages. we are currently lacking resources to put the necessary effort in the development of packages k * whit537 just getting oriented ok, thanks for your help * whit537 will return if I have more questions *** whit537 has left #gnuenterprise *** Morphous has joined #gnuenterprise *** reinhard has quit IRC *** Amorphous has quit IRC *** deke is now known as derek *** madmarx has joined #gnuenterprise *** madmarx has left #gnuenterprise *** derek has quit IRC *** johannesV has quit IRC *** derek has joined #gnuenterprise *** derek has quit IRC *** jcater has quit IRC *** derek has joined #gnuenterprise *** derek has quit IRC *** derek has joined #gnuenterprise
